My "grab camera" reaction time is getting better but I need to be exactly 2 seconds faster. I would have captured two instead of one! A bird in the hand as they say....
I believe this is a Hairy Woodpecker; I see so many Yellow Bellied Sap Suckers this is an interesting change!

That's small enough that it's probably a Downy Woodpecker. Except for size they're almost identical.
